The Hero Shooter Genre Is Booming—Does ', Shatterline', Stand Out?
Shatterline is a fast-paced, first-person warrior sniper with a fulfilling movement system and strong gunplay. It’s difficult to tell how the sport stands out from the crowds of other famous hero guns on the market, aside from the inclusion of crypto elements.
Shatterline gradually shut down its first entry servers in order to prepare for a full-fledged start. Actually released as a non-crypto game in 2022 on Steam. In this process, Faraway—a gaming startup that works closely with Bored Ape Yacht Club creator Yuga Labs and purchased the HV-MTL and Legends of the Mara IP last year—took over as Shatterline’s publisher to offer NFT companions in the player-versus-environment ( PvE ) mode.

Nevertheless, it appears that most of its community is found in the PvP forms of group deathmatch, chauffeur, and conquest—the past of which is like office style in Call of Duty. Here, the show’s joy movement system actually thrives. Players may jump, jump, slide, and walk across the map to produce quick ways to outsmart the enemy.
Although everything to write home about, the combat is also fairly sparse. Just a few of the weapons I had at hand actually felt efficient, with most feeling either to clunky or just underpowered. It’s unfortunate that looking down the opportunity of a tool seems to source you in position, slowing down the general play for a game with such wonderful activity.
As it’s a warrior shooter, each character has its own special skills. However, I didn’t feel like any of these soldiers stood out in terms of capacity or personality. On top of that, none of the capabilities yet feel particularly pleasant, outside of the ultimate moves that you can just use sparingly.
Crypto elements are present in Game method. In this method, HV-MTL NFT buyers can use their mechs as in-game evaluations because they are on a mission to find resources, remove aliens, and carefully harvest from it. Repeatedly, it’s a good experience, but didn’t keep me thirsty for more.

According to the Faraway blog, there are some other blockchain elements that may keep people around —such as a planned play-to-airdrop plan using HV-MTL currencies, or leaderboards paying out USDC benefits. Both of those might give players a compelling reason to watch Shatterline over other heavyweights of the genre.
Otherwise, Shatterline feels like a solid offering with a few standout elements—like the nimble movement—but not quite enough to make it memorable. It’s a fun game to pick up and play for a few hours. But after that, it’s likely to be forgotten about as genre giants like Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, and Apex Legends continue to command massive audiences.
