When the eagerly awaited title Grand Theft Auto 6 hits stores, common Kick channel Adin Ross announced he plans to work with game aficionado and FaZe Clan CEO and co-founder Richard” FaZe Banks” Bengtson to create a crypto-infused practice site.

However, the program might be in trouble right away.

” When GTA 6 falls, me and Ricky are going to make the biggest client up”, Ross said during a video on Monday. ” And I promise you, it’s going to be fully crypto. Whatever pro-crypto about it. It’s going to change the game” .&nbsp,

Ross said the pair had “put a lot of money into it,” while businesses further suggested that the client would have an in-game crypto market fueled by” a newly-made coin.”

If record is anything to go by, however, the site would probably find banned—here’s why.

Back in 2022, Rockstar Games, the creator of the GTA franchise, published an article explaining that player-run servers on Grand Theft Auto Online ( and Red Dead Online ) could no longer use cryptocurrencies, crypto assets, or NFTs in any way. &nbsp,

At the time, people had been running GTA 5/GTA Online “role-playing machines” strapped with fan-made changes of the PC activity. In order to give players more pounds in the game’s assets or provide special benefits, some of these servers added NFTs and crypto to the server.

A flood of GTA machines were forced to close in response to Rockstar’s decision to prohibit blockchain use.

This included Chicago singer Durk” Lil Durk” Businesses, who had launched an NFT-centric GTA site called The Trenches. Lil Durk’s Just the Family Gaming firm claimed to have been contacted by the legal counsel of Rockstar’s family business, Take-Two Interactive.

That said, there are swirling rumours that GTA 6 may be a fork in the road for Rockstar’s anti-crypto attitude. As far back as 2021, rumors have been circulating that the future activity would have in-game Bitcoins rewards and that crypto payments may be made possible.

However, both of these rumors come across as unsupported, and Rockstar has not yet made a comment on GTA 6’s issue. Some people think that crypto may serve as the show’s main source of humor throughout the narrative style, which is more appropriate given how frequently the line has attacked popular culture and society over the years.

Take-Two Interactive developed the NFT wireless game Sugartown to place its name in the blockchain space thanks to mobile editor Zynga, which it acquired in 2022. At the time of the bargain, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick especially said that he believed there were” Web3 opportunities” that the corporations could better handle together.

However, in later 2024, Zynga’s crypto games team decided to leave the business and focus on its projects, founding a new company called D20 Labs, allowing the team to delve deeper into the crypto gaming industry.

It seems plausible that Ross and Banks won’t be able to run a crypto-fueled GTA 6 client once the activity launches later this year, given Rockstar’s present position toward crypto property. But things may change—the after crypto-skeptic Donald Trump launched a joke gold, after all.

reached up to Rockstar Games for comment, but it did not respond right away.
