The North Korean state-sponsored Lazarus hacking organization, according to blockchain data platform Arkham Intelligence, stole more than$ 1.4 billion in Ethereum ( ETH) and related tokens from crypto exchange Bybit on Friday.

The association to Lazarus was made through on-chain data that linked engagement to prior attacks involving the organization Lazarus, a team that has been linked to numerous other business hacks and exploits. Anonymous on-chain sleuth ZachXBT made the connection, who has assisted in the recent recovery of numerous other crypto hacks.

His obedience included a thorough analysis of check transactions and related wallets used prior to the exploit, as well as numerous forensics graphs and timing analyses,” Arkham wrote on X.

In exchange for identifying the identity of the$ 1.4 billion hack that rocked Bybit early on Friday, Arkham had posted a bounty and proceeded to shake crypto markets. The bounty included nearly$ 30,000 worth of ARKM tokens.
