After its rousing debut last month, the Ethereum NFT activity Fantasy Top is on the rise. On Wednesday, the engineers announced that a free-to-play version of the game will album on the just-launched testnet of fresh layer-1 bitcoin, Monad.  ,
Football and basketball players are replaced by the most prominent crypto social media users on X ( formerly known as Twitter ), which the game calls “heroes.” For instance, like sports earn for performance on the field, like scoring a touchdown, “heroes” make points for their cultural commitment measures.
Crypto characters like Ansem, ThreadGuy, Truth Terminal, and many others have warrior tickets that users can put into their teams for each competitors.
The sport posted on X claims that” this immersive Monad practice introduces never-before-seen soldiers and gives players the chance to get white spots for the most hyped NFT series launching on Monad mainnet.”  ,
Users can claim a free bottle of 15 Fantasy Major warrior cards as part of the program and start participating in contests that may award winners with prizes like XP, tickets, and fMON, the testnet token used to purchase warrior cards on the Fantasy Major marketplace.  ,
The second Monad testnet contest is scheduled to go live tomorrow at 10am ET, with registration now available for contests.
According to anonymous Fantasy Major father Travis Bickle, “partnering with Monad is an amazing opportunity to push the boundaries of what on-chain experiences you obtain at scale.”
Fantasy Top’s social fantasy game got its start on Ethereum layer-2 network Blast. The game started off poorly last May, with 31, 000 users and more than$ 21 million in weekly trading volume.  ,
However, the game has surpassed 1,500 weekly users just once since November 19, 2024, despite a decline in Blast users and waning attention following the initial boom. The game raised$ 4.25 million in December, with Dragonfly as a partner to keep its goal of financializing social media.  ,
In an effort to compete with Solana and Ethereum, Monad has raised$ 244 million in an effort to accommodate incredibly quick and affordable transactions. More than 8.8 million EVM wallets were given testnet tokens to use on the network’s testnet on Wednesday after they were able to find them based on their activity on other chains. A date for the network’s mainnet launch has not been set.
