The renowned crypto-focused industry class that helped elect the second pro-crypto president to guide Layer-1 blockchain Solana’s innovative policy push will now lead its CEO, Kristin Smith, who will step down from her position there next month.  ,
On May 19, Smith will take over as chairman of Solana’s Policy Institute, according to a statement released via X. May 16 may be her next day at the Blockchain Association.  ,
According to Curtis Kincaid, the Blockchain Association’s communications director, the board of directors has now begun searching for Smith’s replacement.  ,  ,
In the X post, Smith wrote,” We’ve evolved from a small group of enthusiastic activists to a leading force in Washington, D.C., and beyond.” The Blockchain Association is stronger than ever now.
The Blockchain Association, which was founded in 2018, is one of several business associations that has fought to protect the interests of the crypto market on Capitol Hill. Their work contributed to the pro-crypto movement’s victory in Donald Trump’s election in November, which marked a turning point for an industry that had been in turmoil for a while.
However, as the strength of modern asset firms in Washington, D.C. has grown, so have calls to enact even more of the company’s interests into law. A several Layer-1 cryptocurrencies have established scheme schools to meet that need. Solana is currently joining them.
Smith has worked for the Blockchain Association for about six times.
Before joining the BA, she worked on Capitol Hill as a parliamentary and Senate staffer. She primarily focused on tech-focused plan activities during that period.
Smith serves on the boards of several well-known companies in the bitcoin storage in addition to the halls of Congress. She sits on the boards of G and GII Funds, which Anthony Scaramucci founded, and Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web.
Solana, the sixth-largest online asset by market cap, was just trading at 126.70 dollars, unchanged over the previous 24 hours.
A change in perspective is all that Smith said in a declaration:” This isn’t saying goodbye to the business I love.”
