From bag AI assistants to human robots, this year’s technology innovations showcase the growing integration of artificial knowledge, crypto, and customer tech.
More and more products are being introduced despite concerns that the AI surge could result in more harmful waste supplies by 2030. Companies of all sizes are rushing to remove AI from the sky and put it into the hands of consumers as the hardware landscape has changed drastically.
Nevertheless, crypto technology continues to provide to its customers, with manufacturers learning tough lessons about prices and practicality.
The success of this year’s standout products depends on both technical innovation and the sweet spot between a company’s capacity and affordability. They also paint a image of an industry in transition.
In no particular order, we’ve rounded up seven products that captured interest in 2024—and in some cases, redefined their divisions completely.
Hare R1
In a year dominated by AI hardware launches, the Hare R1 emerged as a standout or even a front-runner. Priced at an accessible $199, this pocket-sized AI assistant has earned praise for delivering where others stumbled.
The device’s” Massive Action Model” technology allows it to handle other apps with remarkable speed—most responses come within 1.5 to 2 seconds, according to it reviewer Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy.
In his picture review, Hilsenteger noted that “what the technology represents is an opportunity to find people excited in a new type strategy that is no longer touch-based and app-based.”
The R1’s achievement shows some distinction to more expensive competitors, suggesting that in the emerging AI technology industry, value and practicality may trump premium positioning.
Humane AI Pin
If the Hare R1 represents AI hardware’s potential, then the Humane AI Pin serves as a cautionary tale about the perils of overpromising and under-delivering. Despite backing from tech industry luminaries and a sleek design, the $699 device—plus a $24 monthly subscription—faced brutal reviews following its launch.
” If you get this issue? That person’s simple. Nope. Nuh-uh. No way”, wrote David Pierce in The Verge’s withering assessment. Critics pointed to decrease performance, limited flexibility, and a continual need for internet connectivity.
The string’s reception has become a learning time for the economy, highlighting the space between AI’s guarantee and its recent practical limitations.
Number 02 Humanoid Robot
Find AI quietly advanced human robotics ‘ state of the art with its Figure 02. While consumer AI made headlines. Six AI-enabled RGB devices, in addition to other hardware improvements, power the creature’s increased AI system and improved system vision.
The company’s relationship with OpenAI adds advanced vocabulary and visual processing capabilities to the system.
According to Figure AI founder Brett Adcock,” These robots may eliminate the need for uncomfortable and unwanted jobs,” ultimately allowing us to lead happier, more fulfilling lives.
Find 02 suggests that the era of real human computers may be closer than we think thanks to a$ 2.6 billion valuation and funding from tech companies like Microsoft and Nvidia.
Solana Person
Solana Mobile is doubling down with the Wanderer in response to the unanticipated achievements of its Story handset. Revealed this year and set to launch in 2025, the$ 500 system has already secured 140, 000 pre-orders, suggesting a strong business appetite for crypto-native wireless products.
The Seeker promises significant improvements over its predecessor, including improved battery life, improved camera performance ( 108-megapixel and 32-megapixel sensors ), and what Solana Mobile General Manager Emmett Hollyer refers to as” a significant step up” in processing power.
” Of program, it will be a benefits magnet”, Hollyer told , referencing the resupply charm that helped the Story sell out in late 2023. However, it will also start some unique experience doors, which I believe will be unique to Seeker versus Saga.
BitBoy One Entertainment Portable
The BitBoy One represents a novel approach to components cards by bridging the kingdoms of vintage games and bitcoin. This$ 500 device combines gaming capabilities with Bitcoin storage and DePIN mining features, wrapped in a nostalgic, Game Boy-inspired design.
Although its processing power restricts it to games from the PlayStation and earlier, the device’s multi-functionality might appeal to crypto enthusiasts who seek greater engagement than traditional hardware wallets do.
We also covered the popular this year-end crypto gaming handhelds, and the burgeoning field looks promising as 2025 approaches. is currently testing out the BitBoy One, and it just started shipping. Stay tuned for more details in the upcoming year.
Nakamoto Chronograph
The limited edition Nakamoto Chronograph, a luxury watchmaker’s creation, introduces high-end horology to the crypto market. We didn’t write about this timepiece, but one of Decrypt’s writers had the chance to try it on at Token2049 in Singapore earlier this year.
Limited to just 100 pieces, the carbon fiber timepiece features the manufacturer’s signature Vanguard shape and sophisticated Swiss automatic movement. Inside its 45mm case, the Chronograph showcases Muller’s signature craftsmanship with its FM 0800 Swiss automatic movement, which provides a 42-hour power reserve. The watch is also water-resistant to 30 meters.
The intricate mechanics are protected by carbon fiber construction and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, while the elegant alligator leather strap and double-fold clasp add elegance to a genuine collector’s item.
” Satoshi Nakamoto ingeniously intertwined technical, economic, and legal complexities to design Bitcoin”, the watchmaker said, comparing the Bitcoin creator to Muller’s propensity for “timeless” symbols of elegance and innovation.
Beyond its name, the watch’s tribute to Bitcoin’s unidentified creator extends beyond its name, with design references to blockchain technology and crypto culture.
The Chronograph is a definite luxury piece despite its price, which is reportedly$ 54, 600, which best captures the growing acceptance of crypto culture in more traditional domains.
AirMoney Degn
Some projects quickly capitalized on the trend as decentralized physical infrastructure networks ( DePINs ) gained popularity this year, with AirMoney’s Degn device claiming to be the first hardware wallet created specifically for this emerging ecosystem.
The device combines physical controls for trading with traditional wallet security, as well as active network participation features like built-in node operation. The project positions its device as “purpose-built” for crypto engagement, similar to how a Kindle is explicitly designed for reading.
Its most striking feature is its physical interface: a tactile knob for adjusting trading leverage, and OLED buttons that provide haptic feedback during transactions. The design philosophy places a premium on tangible interaction with digital assets, breaking away from the purely screen-based interfaces used in the majority of crypto hardware.
With this focused approach, crypto hardware could become the norm, moving beyond simple storage to more active ecosystem involvement.
