Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk announced on Sunday that he is sending a ship of Cybertrucks and Starlink stations to Southern California as treatment and relief efforts in Los Angeles increase after a year of devastating flames.

Musk claimed that the intention is to use the Cybertrucks to offer wireless Wi-Fi areas to places that don’t have internet access.

Strong gusts on Tuesday caused a number of fire to spread out across Los Angeles County, starting in Southern California. The hardest-hit regions included Pacific Palisades, which burned 23, 713 acres, and Altadena, which burned 14, 117 hectares.

According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the Altadena area’s phone lines are also lower and names are being rerouted.

” I was shocked”, they said when asked about the Cybertruck supply. ” During our everyday briefing, I was told we received some Cybertrucks.”

Musk made plans to place Cybertrucks equipped with Starlink stations in a network design, which would provide complimentary Wi-Fi in the hardest-hit sections of the greater LA and Malibu parts on Sunday.

” Condolences to those anticipating Cybertruck sales in California over the next few time,” Musk wrote on X. ” We need to employ those cars as wireless base stations to power the Starlink Internet stations in places of LA without connectivity,” said the truck driver.

Musk has used Tesla’s sources after a natural hazard before for the first time. In September, he sent Starlink stations to Asheville, North Carolina, after Hurricane Helene devastated the area.

Tesla stated in a follow-up article that it would provide housing to those who lost their jobs as a result of the flames. The firm also plans to deploy Tesla Superchargers, Megapack Chargers, and Mobile Powerwall Products to help emergency service and open treatment efforts.

Tesla even sent seven Cybertrucks with Starlinks for energy and online access to Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department headquarters in Altadena, Pasadena, and Malibu. Musk and Tesla did not specify where the Cybertrucks may be located in the towns or who would have access to their WiFi.

Tesla cars and Cybertrucks you project WiFi signals, but the company hasn’t specified how sturdy or how far the signal would travel. However, the firm says people can stream video from Netflix and YouTube.

According to Tesla, a second Starlink terminal does reach a range of up to 3, 200 feet and help up to 235 products. So, the eight Starlink-equipped Cybertrucks was link around 1, 800 devices.

Owners of Cybertrucks who want to participate in the support efforts may offer their Wi-Fi to the affected areas, according to Musk.

Walk in your vehicle in the ravaged areas while having access to available WiFi and a Starlink terminal on the roof, Musk wrote on Twitter.

While Musk’s social views have drawn criticism from some in California, he emphasized that his reduction efforts were aimed at aiding the impacted communities, irrespective of public opinion.

” That is true of some people in California, and the media would, of course, chastise me of grandstanding”, he said. ” But, if this helps keep yet one property or maybe even someone’s life, we should still do it”.

Tesla did not respond to ‘s responses right away.
