Former Republican representative for the House of Representatives, Bo Hines, has been appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the Executive Director of the National Council of Advisers for Digital Assets.

Hines will work alongside Trump’s choice for the White House’s AI and Crypto Czar, David Sacks, and a “new consulting group composed of stars from the blockchain business,” according to a Truth Social article from Trump.

Trump stated that “in his new role, Bo may work with David to foster innovation and development in the digital goods place, while ensuring business leaders have the tools they need to thrive.” Collectively, they will create an environment where this industry can develop, and remain a core of our world’s modern development.”

Hines was the Trump-endorsed Republican House candidate in North Carolina’s 13th District in 2022, but lost the race to Democrat enemy Wiley Nickel. Prior to that race, former FTX Digital Markets CEO Ryan Salame, who later served in prison for related campaign finance violations, was among the supporters of Hines.

The 29-year-old Hines ran again for the House this year in the country’s 6th District, but lost in the elections, placing third among Democratic candidates. He does not seem to have a long history of making remarks about Bitcoin or crypto.

” Bless you, Mr. President! It will be the recognition of a life to assist in your next administration. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our country,” Hines wrote on X ( formerly known as Twitter ) on Sunday”. I’m thrilled to work alongside the beautiful David Sacks to make sure that this sector continues to prosper and be a key component of our country’s technological development.

In addition to Hines, Trump appointed Sriram Krishnan, a former venture capitalist for Andreessen Horowitz, as the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s Senior Policy Advisor. Krishnan, who departed from the important VC firm in November, may also work closely with Baskets.
