In a nutshell

  • Crypto influencer Jeremy Cahen wants to make nearly$ 400,000 in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PEPE.
  • The court recently found that Cahen and actor Ryder Ripps had infringed on the trademark of Yuga Labs ‘ Bored Ape Yacht Club.
  • Cahen was charged by Yuga Labs with “mockery” of the judge’s decision.

In an effort to acquire crypto property held by celebrity Jeremy Cahen, also known as Pauly0x, Yuga Labs has filed a churn get in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

As of October 30, 2018, there were nearly$ 400,000 worth of the property spread across four cards, including PEPE coin, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.

Cahen and actor Ryder Ripps were sued by Yuga Labs in July 2022 for violating their brand by selling the Ryder Ripps Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT series. &nbsp,

In May 2022, Ripps claimed the Bored Ape NFTs featured secret Nazi and racist pictures and that the copycat venture was a form of “parody” and opposition. &nbsp,

In October 2023, the court agreed with Yuga and awarded it over$ 1.5 million in damages. This totaled nearly$ 9 million in February, including$ 7 million in post-judgment interest and attorneys ‘ fees.

By March 3, the last judgment, entered on February 2, 2024, became legal. Cahen has never requested a connection or a stay of police, which has allowed Yuga Labs to commence asset recovery following a judgment.

Since then, the business has subpoenaed Cahen’s officer and served levies on crypto-based websites like Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Binance, and Gemini, which were delivered by U.S. Marshals.

The company stated in its most recent submitting that” Yuga Labs has taken racial actions under California law, basically every quarter since the Court issued its Last Judgment.” &nbsp,

Cahen continues to mock the final judgment of this court by refusing to pay any part of the view or cooperate with any post-judgment discovery.

Cahen’s move to$ 366, 946 in bitcoin is documented in court records to avoid paying a Gemini charge. This move, according to Yuga, took place one day after the levy was imposed, before Gemini was defrost his accounts, implying a deliberate attempt to avoid asset seizures.

In response to a summons, Gemini requested transaction information from Cahen’s accounts that showed that he had moved crypto into two new pockets.

Cahen maintains that despite not having a proper sit, he is not required to agree with discovery calls while his appeal is pending. Cahen, who has been accused of being a scammer and has promoted various meme coins, described himself as” the most censored man on X” after his account was suspended last year.

Cahen is wanted for aggravated assault, according to a statement released in February. In San Juan, the region’s money, he was placed in the top ten most wanted lists in February. Criticism has labeled his most recent job, a DEX called Pond0X, as a scam.

The court has not yet decided on Yuga Labs ‘ attrition petition. Decrypt has contacted Cahen on Instagram for remark.
