In April, the price of Solana ( SOL ) increased to its highest level since then, outpacing other top coins, with the launch of several Solana ETFs in Canada with stake-capability, along with long-awaited Solana infrastructure upgrades at centralized exchange Coinbase.
Solana is now trading for practically$ 136, according to CoinGecko’s data, which is its highest level since March 28. SOL is up 6 % on the day, outperforming daily gains from the top 10 coins ranked by market cap, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and other top 10 coins.
Solana, one of the top 100 cash, has increased by almost 23 % over the past year, making it one of the biggest beneficiaries.
The most recent increase comes on the heels of the start of Canada’s first-spot Solana ETFs on Wednesday, which were issued by manufacturers like 3iQ, Evolve, CI, and Purpose. Staking is a feature of the exchange-traded funds, giving investors the yields that issuers use to staking their Liquid in order to support the Solana blockchain.
Spot Solana ETFs have not yet been approved in the US, but businesses like VanEck, 21Shares, and Bitwise have submitted applications to the Securities and Exchange Commission to build them.
In addition to Solana, issuers have filed a possible wide range of additional area crypto funds in the United States, including those tied to XRP, Dogecoin, and perhaps President Donald Trump’s standard Solana-based image coin. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs were approved in the United States in 2024.
Solana’s rise to a new high on Thursday also came as a result of Coinbase’s statement to upgrade its infrastructure, making it possible for the asset to perform more quickly and reliably.
In accordance with the X article, Coinbase will “process transactions simultaneously, leading to a 5x improvement in block processing throughput,” “leverage exposed metal machines for 4x improved Http performance,” “be more tenacious via improved failover, liquidity optimizations, and better functional controls,” and “be more resilient.”
Bitcoin has recently been criticized for Solana deal delays due to its exchange, which reached a head in January after Trump’s meme coin was released.
He wrote on X in January,” It’s obvious we need to step up our game on Solana,” “scale our system, and provide local support for common usage scenarios like DEX/meme gold buying.”
