Elon Musk-founded brain-computer software company Neurolink has opened its individual register to applicants all over the world, enabling more people with severe disabilities to access its mind-controlled systems.

No matter where they are, people with quadriplegia were allowed to apply in a post on X ( previously Twitter ), which was posted on Wednesday.

You can now mark up from anywhere in the world if you have quadriplegia and want to discover novel ways to use your emotions to power computers, Neuralink wrote on X.

The science company was given permission by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to conduct human testing in September 2023, but just three people have so far been given Neuralink’s approval for a brain-computer transplant.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have one of the following conditions: quadriplegia ( paralysis affecting all four limbs ), paraplegia ( paralysis of the lower body ), blindness ( partial or total vision loss ), or speech impairment that impairs the ability to speak or be understood, according to the questionnaire on the Neuralink website.

Applicants are also asked if they have any known allergies to compare colour, whether they speak English well, if they have health coverage, and what their natural sex is.

Neuralink stated in its brochure that it didn’t accept people who already have implanted medical equipment, such as a pacemaker or strong mind stimulator, have history of seizures, need MRIs for ongoing health conditions, or have received transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy.

Examine content may be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred as a result of their studies.

Launched by Musk in 2016, Neuralink was established to create a clear interface between people and artificial intelligence in order to solve neurological disorders.

Musk made hints about a future where the line between human and machine does haze even more during Tesla’s March all-hands meeting.

Long-term, we will also have human improvements, with the option of adding someone who wants to use Neuralink for cyber enhancements. We had positively offer superhuman abilities via Neuralink in the future if you want to go cyber and have superintelligence and see in different wavelengths, according to Musk, the company’s CEO. The prospect will be very interesting, one thing is certain.

Musk announced on X in May 2024 that Neuralink was looking for a second participant for its brain-computer interface human trials in May. He referred to the technology as a “telepathy cybernetic brain implant that allows you to control your phone and computer by simply thinking.”

Noland Arbaugh, a quadriplegic man from Arizona who had become the first human test subject of Neuralink’s brain-computer interface in January 2024, was the study’s introduction and two unnamed people were named 2024″ A Year of Telepathy.”

Although brain-computer interface technology has improved people’s ability to interact with and communicate with others, there hasn’t been any contentious content.

In Neuralink’s brain-computer interface trials, over 1, 500 animals have died, according to a report from in 2022.
